WordPress  had notified me of a spike in my viewership 2 or 3 times these past 2 months…. and the source of the spike are my “uncensored and unfiltered ” posts that question my  belief in the policy platform of the Democratic Party and my rants againts  the government of China, which I’m sure many of my ” progressive” readers find  discomfiting.  The enemy of my enemy is my friend, that’s the problem,  never mind that the ”  friend ”  has been violating freedom of the press and speech,  human rights,  brazen expansionism , ethnic  and cultural cleansing  in Tibet, Mongolia and the Uyghurs   minority  in China,   and destruction of  environment and wildlife. ( Not to mention organ harvesting going on in China )  Check out ,on my post,  BBC’s report on 267 Chinese fishing vessels in Galapagos Island.   They  cannot even spare that piece of  the vast ocean from their insatiable lust  for money.   Chinese vessels have also been vacuuming marine life in West Philippine Sea, and have been seen on Tabuttaha Reef in the Philippines, one of the most protected sites in the world.  There are almost no fish in the Indian Ocean,  and even North Korea  had shot  dead 3 Chinese  fishermen that were seen  vacuuming North Korea’s  marine territories . No more squid for you Kim Jong Un.  China has gone so low that even their most protected ally and friend, North Korea ,  is taking shots at them.   The worst. 

So, I’m asking the Democratic Party…. just because , at the moment, the Republican Party sees itself as the party that ” bravely ” fights   the  untouchable, will you now act as protector of  this country , and  welcome this country, once again, with open arms, and ignore the unbridled  theft of anything this country can get hold of, just because   the enemy of my enemy is my ally and friend? 

Now about the title of this post.  

Don’t be surprised at what I’m about to  tell you. 

I’ve just given my 3rd donation to the Biden Campaign, and my parents have just received their PIONEER Ticket /sticker from the Biden Campaign, as well. I don’t need  to tell you what getting  a PIONEER ticket entails.  Suffice it to say,  legal  “individual contribution ” is at maximum.  

So,don’t come here and comment what a bad person I am , throwing my  principles out the window.  I   just want you to know that I truly believe   the fate of this planet now depends on who  the next President of the United States of America is.  It’s important what a President Biden  means to America and to the free world.

Chillin’ at 1:40 AM , March 31, 2019 .

 

Yesterday, March 30, was my Dad’s  birthday.

 

I haven’t “watched ” the news  for about 3 months now.. I am tired of all the political burlesque   that’s going on here in the US and around the world. Like,  what the heck  happened to Venezuela? It’s like an  apocalypse over  there … empty shelves at grocery stores,  Mickey Mouse money… almost a million Venezuela Bolivars for one cup of coffee ! ….  and a  million per cent  inflation rate. ( I watched it YouTube, BBC Channel )

 

On the homefront,  I’ve turned into a political zombie. …. I’m  more like a  ” deadma “ , I think.  What’s a ” deadma ” ?  It’s a common Filipino slang word coined from 2 English words  ” dead malice ” . A person is  deadma  when he/she  feels, looks, and acts unconcerned about what’s going on around him/her,. ( or fiddles while Rome burns, as the saying goes. ) . However, I’m only deadma  on the outside.  Inwardly, I’m judging….. Yes , judging ,  but  in the most sensible, reasonable ,  logical  and most fair manner  as possible.

That’s the  reason why my politics has   slid from far left  to just a bit left of center.  Extremism is toxic. Anything  taken  in excess is poison.  The only thing  that has not budged  is my position on environment and guns, and my  unwavering disgust with  you – know -who…

 

I know exactly when the slide towards the center started. It started right after the 2016 US presidential elections.

Xena, (  for some reason, link fails, so here it is…. https://blackbutterfly7.wordpress.com/   ) a good blogger friend , has nominated me for a Sunshine Award.  She only has one question her nominees have to respond to, i.e. , What’s on your mind today ?  I like  that.

 

I  woke up at 4 AM  today to read Bob Woodward’s  Fear.  It’s 6 AM right now, and I just finished reading  3 chapters of the book.

So what do I think of the book, so far ?  It’s expectedly cringe- worthy, but , to be honest,  everything  I have read, so far,  is just an affirmation of  things we already know.  I am afraid  I have become inured to all the shenanigans that are going on at the White House. I just want this to be over, so that the country can  start  restoring  respectability and dignity back to the Office of the President of the United States, rebuild the goodwill of all nations, and most importantly,  undo and repair the damage this presidency has inflicted on its citizens and government institutions.

 

There is no other  recourse but to vote, and to vote wisely.

 

This is what is on my mind today.

I bought a security camera for our house.  Just one camera . I’ll add more later. It’s not cheap. ( $200 ) . It’s wireless,  130 degree angle, HD , night vision, illuminates up to 25 ft., audio, ( speaker and microphone) , and there’s a built – in siren

 

So, why did I buy a security camera?   Most of you have read my 2 previous posts.   This week,  my car’s window had been smashed,  and my dad’s  had been egged.  We have no proof who the culprit is, that’s why I   can’t file a Restraining Order against  my ex.  At least, the culprit didn’t key my car.  Thank goodness for small mercies.  Even though my car is 10 years old (  a 2008 BMW , my mother’s originally ) it’s in mint condition. It’s so clean it sparkles. lol  Just kidding.

 

Oh, yeah, I went hiking  last week with my co-workers.  Photo taken in Auburn, California. That’s yours truly in the photo.

My mother and I are planning to visit Japan in Oct. 2019.   Well, when we went on European tour  years ago, we bought our tickets and tour package  9 months earlier.   I wonder why our 30-day packaged Euro tour is so much cheaper than the 10 -day Japanese tour, though.  I mean, almost the same price ! !  Is Japan really that expensive ? Anyways,  I’m already excited to see Akihabara  shopping district , the center of Japan’s manga/anime/otaku culture.

 

This is all for now.  I hope this will be the last post re that troublesome   person. No news is good news, right ?

Chopsuey

I’m calling this post chopsuey because I have nothing specific in mind…… just a mixed bag of  stuff  that’s on my mind at the moment. So , here goes….

 

I went to a 99 cents store to buy kitchen rags and sponges and my favorite scented soap, Palmolive. Of course, we inevitably get to buy other things that do not have to be expensive, such as seasonal Holloween decorations. Then, I saw this……..

 

It is  furniture polish wipes,  but its Warning  states ” Do not use on furniture “, or as personal hygiene , such as  “baby wipes.” Made in China.  I hurriedly left the store. Goshdarnit.  I’m assuming some people over there use this as baby wipes, hence , the warning.

 

The dairy plant where I work is huge. Employees have to drive through 3 gates ( using a remote control ) with road spikes to stop illegal entry. We do allow a few visitors to get in, like the one I encountered at the parking lot.  Please watch video down below ( I’ve done everything to post this video  on its proper place, but it seems it always goes down below. The old WordPress features were easier  to work with. I don’t even have a Preview now. So , yeah, I just   gave up fixing this. )  Anyway, the video shows a light brown fox  near where I parked my car.

 

I finally met a person (  a co-worker ) who thinks he had been abducted by aliens. He acts normal, though….. just don’t let him talk about his alien abduction experience.

 

I’ve been watching on You Tube anything on North Korea for over a year now. To me, the worst thing that these dictators’ family has done is to make zombies and robots out of  their people . Zombies are the undead. They may look human, but they don’t act like one. And the children …..  The way the children smile and act is uniform and robotic. . They look so creepy.  So, Ren, what exactly is your point in saying all these  ?  I won’t tell because you’ll hate me if I do.

 

There is a North Korean video of New York City in nuclear ruins , with the song ” We Are the World ” playing in the backround,….. and North Korean audience applauding gleefully as they watch the video.

” Ah, I love the smell of napalm in the morning. ”

Forensics and I

So I mentioned  something about a potential life- changing career move on my previous post. ( or is it potentially ? ) To be honest, I don’t really like to talk about it because , jinx. It’s like counting the chicken before they hatch, and I’d get disappointed again.

 

Here’s the backround story……. Most of my old readers know I graduated with 2 college degrees, Cellular and Molecular Biology , Minor in Chemistry, and Forensics Biology. I applied  at a dairy company as a microbiologist , landed the job , and this is where I am currently working. At the same time, I also applied at  our city law enforcement’s forensics department as  Criminalist 1 (  California’s term for Forensics scientist ). Unfortunately, I got a Rank 4 . Only Ranks 1,2 & 3 are considered for the job . Although I was an A+ student, passed the test with a grade of 90, I lost to experience. It frustrated me to no end because, which comes first, the chicken or the egg. How will any newbie , like moi, ever get experience if  you don’t give me the job, please tell me.  I understand they want expertise and vast knowledge, but I applied as Criminalist 1, not Criminalist 5 . My friend who’s a law officer said Rank 4 was good enough, and I was told my application would be in their data base for 3 years. She tells me to be patient , and wait for a criminalist to retire. What ! !

 

Two weeks ago, I was notified there was  another job opening … an assistant aka lab tech ( not  scientist ) in Forensics Dep’t. Although the job is waaaaaay  below my level of  education,  I applied  again, submitted my  new resume ( now with one year of laboratory experience ) , took the test, got 95 %, and Rank 2.  The next step is an interview  , hopefully , soon.  I read the description of the job…. it’s  similar to a Criminalist’s job. In fact, a Forensics lab tech may also be called to appear in court .  Maybe I’ll be like that rookie criminalist  who will do the dirty job.? In school, we were shown a video of a woman jumping into the dumpster and rummaging through a mountain of trash to look for  crime evidence…. and our professor said ” Class,  she’s a rookie criminalist “.  Oh, so, that’s what rookies do. I’m totally okay with that. I’ll wash test tube  and beakers, throw away the biohazard garbage, mop the floor ( janitorial services, who cares ), buy coffee,  as long as I can set foot in a Forensics lab. Funny thing is, a Forensics lab tech pay is $ 2 more per hour than my current pay .

 

Don’t get me wrong. I love my current job, and it’s just 12 to 15 minutes from my house.  I keep the food safe for you, guys, so it’s all good.

 

Peering through a microscope in a laboratory is going to be my life, now and forever. * I just realized it…. there’s nowhere to run from that life. *

This is me, now and forever.

To be honest, my current job is a microbiologist’s work, which is not what I studied for.   A Cellular and Molecular Biologist’s job is basically  in RESEARCH, mostly in drug companies ( or like in Cancer Research  Center ) where we research on stuff that affect organisms in cellular and molecular level. It’s hardcore, guys. I did apply at Genentech and Monsanto, but there were no openings as of yet. No major drug companies here in my beautiful city, unfortunately.  Besides, I’m not ready to relocate yet.

 

Researching and discovering a cure for cancer and other diseases is a very noble job,  but , at the moment, my heart’s in discovering whodunit.

Breaking my silence, but not enough

Hello, there !  Renxkyoko Iglesias here.

 

I haven’t done any blog reading ….. well, maybe 10 blogs a day this week, and these last 2 days, none at all……, and Cassie, MBBBF,  can attest to this. I haven’t been feeling well these last few days that even my boss had to let me go home  ( bad timing,  there was no one to take my shift so my boss had to do my work ) .  My cough sounded terrible , , my eyes were watery, my joints hurt, and though I had a slight fever, my hands and feet were icy cold. Weird.   Last Wednesday, I was called for a jury duty. I went despite being sick, and hoped the judge wouldn’t select me. I  usually don’t get selected because of my father’s job.  He works with law enforcement, and no, he’s not a cop nor a warden, ^_^”.  We get asked about this stuff,  so, I was sure  the defendant’s attorneys would eliminate me, assuming wrongly  there was  going to be some bias against his client.  Sure enough, I was sent home, thank goodness.  This is not always the case though , because my sister was selected  to be a juror despite the personal info.  Why was she selected ?  Well,  99 % of the people who were asked by the judge  gave the wrong answer. My sister was the only one who got it right. Okay, so the judge asked each potential juror  whether the defendant present in this court  was guilty or not.  Everyone answered they didn’t know……. my sister was the only who said the defendant was innocent.  And folks, that’s how it should be… innocent until proven guilty .

 

Another thing……. US Attorney General  Jeff Sessions just scrapped  the commission established by the Department of Justice and  the National Institute of Science and Technology  to engage independent forensic experts to improve the reliability and authenticity of forensic evidences .  Sessions scrapped this… these “meddling  scientists “, he said.  He said he would instead just get an in-house adviser.  Folks, I have a college degree in Forensics Biology, specializing in DNA Analysis,  and even if I know that Forensics analysis  is the most reliable evidence by far,  this cannot be attained with garbage evidence .  ( contaminated , etc. ) We have to be sure that the person we are sending to the gallows is  truly guilty.  Now, don’t ask me if I’m pro- death penalty  or anti.

 

I haven’t made any political statements for quite a while.  I ‘m so overwhelmed by the almost daily  screw-ups coming from the White House….. oh,  pardon me, from Mar-a Lago…. that I ‘ve decided to zone everything out.  I mean, that guy spent 25 days of his first 100 days golfing on his   resorts and visiting his other properties. Meanwhile , taxpayers spend  $ 3 M each time he stays at Mar-aLago, not to mention the $$$$$$  the government spends to maintain his New York’s Trump Tower, because Melania lives there.  Add the $$$$$ we spend every time his sons go abroad on private business. (  Hey, first family is protected everywhere they go, right ? )

 

Of course, these are just small , shallow corruption issues.  What I should be more concerned about is the abolishment of  the Environmental  Protection Agency ( EPA ) , Department of  Education, the repeal/rejection of Affordable Health Care Act ,  defunding of all agencies that take care of the needs of  the people…. ( Meals on Wheels, PBS subsidies,  Sesame Street, the arts ).Meanwhile , that man  is so ready and eager to make tax cuts for the rich.

Awards acknowledgement and other stuff

I’d like to apologize for my long-delayed acknowledgement of the awards I’d been given by  raistlin0903  (  Versatile Blogger Award ), cookandenjoyrecipes ( Blog-aholic  Award ),  lifewithtranquility ( Blogger  Recognition Award ) and livepulchritudinously ( Blogger Recognition Award ).  There are two more, but I assume they are for my anime/manga/video game website.  The only one who has a question for me is @livepulchritudinously.  The question is , give a brief story of how your blog started.

 

Well, in high school… my fellow manga fans met at a manga forum……  our posts later morphed into personal and off-topic , like , ” Guess what, guys, I just bought a new pair of boots.” So, we decided to do our thing on LiveJournal.  Then , ( though  I’m not sure about this  ) WordPress took over LiveJournal and all our stuff were transferred, lock, stock and barrel, to WordPress.  At first, it was just us commenting on each other’s blog. Then , for the first time,  one person posted a comment on my blog, and I was really surprised.  ”  Who is this guy and why is he here ? ”  Then a few more comments from other readers  followed and we didn’t like it, so we just ignored the commenters . The situation was like that for almost a year, LOL.

 

That’s the story. Hey, we were just a bunch of idiots who didn’t know any better.  To date, I’m the sole survivor.  One had gone to medical school, the other got married,  one went to China to teach English, and couldn’t post from there….. the rest I don’t know. They deleted their blogsites.  Ironically, what got me interested  were the comments. I started responding to them, and for the first time , read their blogs.   The rest is history.

Criminal Minds

So,

I have  been binge-watching Criminal Minds these last few weeks, and plan to watch all 11 seasons of the show. I’m now on Season 3 , Ep.15.  Each season  has at least 23 episodes. In other words , I have already watched 61  episodes.

Criminal Minds is a police procedural crime drama that focuses on profiling the ” unsub ” or the unidentified subject, the person who commits the crime, rather than the crime itself.  There are always 7  ” behavioral analysts at any one time  that work  at  FBI’s  BAU or Behavioral Analysis Unit based in Quantico..  Check out Wikipedia for the general synopsis.

To those who watch CM……. have you ever wondered why there’s a special jet that fly these profilers to any place in the US  ( even to Mexico )  anytime their assistance is requested ?  Are they the only people working as profilers in the whole USA ?

My professor in Advanced Forensics  says yes.  He even suggests that  anyone planning to  take up Forensics Psychology as a profession  might want to change his/her major, because , guess what, the federal  government has only one or two positions available  for forensic psychologist. States don’t employ forensic psychologists, nor, for that matter, profilers.  That’s why  there’s one episode  where the 7 FBI behavioral analysts from Quantico  get a call from LAPD to assist them in tracking a serial killer. And this is LA we’re talking about, folks. So, it is true,  California  does not have its own profilers.

I have a crush on Dr. Spencer Reid,  the geek/nerd /genius in the team.  He’s  thin, always has that disheveled look,  shy,  awkward…… my kind of guy. ^^”    Spencer Reid

Oh,  and please, please, please, wish me luck.  I submitted my resume  2 weeks ago for the position of Criminalist 1, an entry level position that is now available in our city’s  law enforcement HQ.  Actually, I applied last year yet, but there was no opening.  I was told  though I’d be notified  when there’s a position available, and  got a notification last month, thank you very much. .  I’m sure there are dozens and dozens of applicants that appplied, but I hope, they are all like me, with no experience ( after all , it’s only for Criminalist 1 or  another name, Forensic Science analyst ),  and I hope they will consider me  because I have 2 degrees  that are relevant to the profession,  Cell and Molecular Biology and Forensics Biology.   I’m going to pray to all the saints in heaven because this is my dream job. * ponders * But what if I didn’t get the job….  does it mean, the holy saints rejected my prayers ?  TT_TT

My Last Day in Paris

Hi, there ! !  Just photos this time. I won’t write much  because it’s Monday, and Mondays s*ck.  Before anything else, those who are interested in reading my manga/anime site, check it out HERE.

Here are some photos of my last day in Paris…. in fact, the last day of my 30 day tour of Europe.

I had liver pate ( I love liver ), and escargot (  fancy name for snail ).

I need to say  this , though….. tipping in Europe is massive..  We had to tip those serenaders, the waiters, the tour manager, the bus driver.  If you bought a tour package for a certain amount,  never , ever think that’s all you’re gonna spend. Some dinners aren’t free. You can opt out and not join the group, and eat at McDonald’s ,  or pay $ 75 each for a lousy  dinner in Monaco , or $ 70 in Rome. Since my cousin and I didn’t really have money , my mother had to shoulder everything , for herself, for me and my 14 year old cousin.  For the tour manager and bus driver, it was $ 14 tip each day from one tourist, and since it was a 30 – day tour,  the amount totaled $ 420 each person, and since there were 3 of us ( Mom, myself and cousin ),  we had to pay $ 1,260. Take note…. there were 50 of us in the group. Good thing credit card was accepted.  If dinner was at the hotel we were staying in, then it was free. Unfortunately,  the group always ate out , in Madrid, Barcelona, Paris,  Switzerland, Venice.  Even some tours weren’t free, like the  Rheine River cruise, etc. So, be sure to bring plenty of cash. One thing though, we drank wine like it was water, one bottle per person, I kid you not. Every night was Happy Hour.

And one more thing,  before  Paris, I had this impression  the Mona Lisa painting was huge.  Guess what, it’s small, about a foot and a half  long

 

DSCN2023 I have tons of pics  taken at the Louvre Museum.  The Louvre was the residence of Marie Antoinette and King  Louis XIV.  The ostentatiousness was breathtaking. ” They don’t have bread ? Let them eat cake. ” , said Marie, in response to massive hunger and poverty at that time. No wonder she got her head cut off.

So, my last post was on April 26.  That was exactly  2 months ago.  ( Right, , Captain Obvious).  Now   I won’t give an excuse like I’ve been busy, yadiya, but I do feel I’m starting to lose my muse………. oh, alright, I’ve been busy. I’m putting in at least 10 hours of work everyday, from Monday to Sunday.  I have 2 jobs, you know.  Plus, all my free time is spent watching Netflix, mostly TV series that I never had time to watch when they were on, such as Poirot, Midsomer Murders, Fringe, Medium, 100s, etc., and animes such as Hunter x Hunter,( 100 episodes at 25 minutes per episode  )  Moribito,  and currently Inuyasha , which ends at 193 episode … I finished the whole dang thing  yesterday, at 3 AM. Well, after work is the only time I have, so don’t judge. . I can’t multi task when I watch animes.  They are in Japanese, so I’m  pretty much stuck in the couch reading the English subtitles. About  InuYasha…. it is  addicting. I love all the characters, except, believe it or not, the main character, InuYasha.  He’s a freakin’ moron,  indecisive, and a two-timing scoundrel. I dislike him so much that I feel I just wasted 85 hours of my life watching this character  being   a stupid/ idiot.  Die, InuYasha ! Other than that , the anime is one great fantasy/action/thriller  story.

So, if you’re so busy doing your thing, Ren, why are you posting now ? Well,  something happened a few days ago that made the wheel in my head churning again . My best friend “O” is supposed to get married on July 10, in Southern California ( I live in Northern California ), and I’m a ” witness”  in her court wedding. ( not church wedding ) I already bought my plane ticket, and arranged sleeping accomodations (  lucky to have my brother living there ) …….then 2 days ago, I received a text from O that the wedding was cancelled, permanently.  According to her, her ” fiancé”  has been living a double life  ( they’ve been living together for 2 years ) ,  is actually married, and has a child.  I was dumbfounded.  I hung out with her at their apartment, playing video games (  we’re not even done yet with Resident Evil, we both suck at it ), and yeah, the ” fiancé” was always there. And he was nice.  What the heck.  No wonder he wanted to hold the wedding at a place 600 miles from our city….. I wondered about that…… now I know.  So, when exactly does he plan to drop the bomb before he commits BIGAMY ?  What’s even more mortifying is the fact that  this guy is a police officer ,and a Captain , at that.  My best friend is also a police officer, by the way.  Dang it.  It felt like my own stomach  got  punched, so I cannot even imagine what she’s feeling now.  I don’t know what I can do to make her feel  better, besides trashing and badmouthing  him to death. That scumbag.  I’m not generalizing, folks, but seriously, we women always get the short end of the stick….. my friend and yeah, his wife, too. Worse for his wife, to be honest.  Aaargh !  Oh, man . The heck !

This reminds me of another break- up, but this time, the douchebag is my guy cousin.  He and his fiancée were about to get married….. church schedule already set,  wedding invitations, check, wedding dress, check.  So what happened ? My cousin had a co-worker who had a humungous crush on him since forever.  The woman invited him one day to dinner after work as farewell gift and according to him, a closure on her love. ( my cousin was aware she liked him. ) He obliged….. the problem was, they had drinks too many, and I assume, the woman was desperate, and men being men,  he got her pregnant.   Was the wedding cancelled ? Yes.  Did he marry the pregnant woman, ? No. Though he was threatened with a shotgun wedding by the woman’s family,  he still refused,   ( he consulted  with my  aunt …* my aunt is a judge* ,  regarding legal matters, like , was he legally obliged to marry her, and so forth ) Last news about him was, he and his ex bride got back together, not married yet,  and  he is supporting his child )  .  I met him for the first time at a family reunion when we were in the Philippines last year.  I almost told him, ” hey doosh, how’s it goin’? ”

* sigh *

Be brave and strong, sisters.

Fun vacation in the Philippines, Part 3

Wow. My last post was Oct. 24.  I know, I’m a lazy blogger.  I’m suppose  to post  Part 3 of my fun vacation in the Philippines, but, I feel it’s gone  stale already.  It’s  still okay, I guess.

Oh, wait…. remember my Cringe- worthy  Forensic Science project ?  I  was told  not  to talk about it. Now you’re telling me. I just did. And I’m not going to delete that post.  I mean, Forensic  shows are all over cable, so there’s really nothing  federal  about it.   Oh, and before I forget, we made 6 trials, and that means, we asked for 5 more of  THAT.  THAT is semen.  I don’t have to  act coy anymore.  I’m past that.  Here’s another jar, pal. And put it in the freezer immediately.  * ponders*  Actually, I’m sensitive and fragile so please take care of me.

The US  Congress is planning to pass a law  that will allow the government to get the DNA profiles   of all Americans and store them at  the  DNA Data Base  center.  This way, it will be easier for law enforcement agencies to catch the criminals.  That’s a good thing,  right ? Wrong.  Even  Forensic Analysts  do not agree.   Criminals are smart now, especially those who commit  premeditated murders.  The bad guy can just pick up any  cigarette butt or  beer and soda cans, and plant  them at the scene of crime.   Even if  the innocent guy has a solid alibi, he still has to explain the presence of his DNA  at the scene..  Even if the prosecutor cannot find  any motive, you can bet that the sun is up there the prosecutor will find one.  The innocent is totally screwed.  He’ll be looking at a life sentence without the possibilty of parole, or worse, death penalty. That’s what happens if all our DNA profiles are in the DataBase.  Well, you know what they say… it’s preferable to free 100 guilty men over incarcerating  one innocent man, or something like that.  In fact, this happened already. The bad guy planted a random cigarette butt……. good thing the DNA  profile found on the cigarette did not have a match  at the National DNA  DataBase.

Enough of chatting.

Here’s Part 3 of my fun vacation in the Philippines.

So, off we went to see Taal Volcano, the smallest volcano in the world.DSCN0045

.Can you see the volcano ? It’s right there in the middle of the picture. You can see the mouth of the volcano, right ? It was misty  around the area of the volcano , even though the temperature was like, 100 F  ( 38 C ), and very, very humid.

We went up there to have lunch at that restaurant in the photo, but it was closed for renovation.   Good thing there was a Chinese restaurant  nearby, with a nice view too.

The first thing that I ordered was real coconut juice, straight from the fruit. By the way, coconut is not a nut. It’s a fruit. Oh, my gosh, it tasted sooo good.

After drinking the juice, we scraped off the white meat with a spoon. Delicious.

This is all for now.  Oh, before I forget,  on my Part 2 Philippine post, there was this singer whose  song was played over and over  on our  trip to Taal Volcano.  Well, he was Rick Astley, and the songs were Never Give You Up and Together Forever. :/

And the owner of the car is a relative who is also a Prosecutor.  That car plate  was a souvenir  given  during a Prosecutors’ Conference  held a month ago before I took that picture. She said she wasn’t supposed to make that a permanent fixture 😮  It’s  dangerous.  I talked about her on my Part 2 Philippine post.  She received death threats a few years ago.

She’s okay now. The bad guys are in jail. Still….. announcing you’re a Prosecutor is a bad idea. Try doing that in Mexico, and see what happens.
Oh, well, what do I know .
