A 3 -day vacation in LA

Hi, Renxkyoko Iglesias here.

I had a fun and relaxing 3 – day vacation in Los Angeles with my cousin last week.  We were supposed to stay at my brother’s place in Long Beach, but he was out of town. Good thing we were able to get an Airbnb right in downtown LA. My sister lives a bit far away from LA, and she has work, so  bnb is the most convenient place to stay… it’s just a 2- mile walk or so to Hollywood Walk of Fame.  But here’s the thing….. I forgot my cellphone at home.  My cousin had her cell of course but she’s not much of a picture -taker. She did take a picture of  T-t-t-rump’s  star and my own hand giving it the middle finger, and though she posted it on Snapchat , she didn’t save the picture. Darn it. It was so amusing though  to see people lining up to stomp their feet on this guy’s star. (  The images below are not mine )

We also went to the Getty Museum, and for the first time, saw  real Monet and Van Gogh paintings. I was in awe.  I bought one Van Gogh print.  By the way, I saw the real Mona Lisa painting at Louvre in Paris, and was a bit ( just a teeny, weeny bit, okay ? ) surprised  the painting was small, like 2 ft x 2 ft.?? . I imagined it a bit larger than that.

Sorry for the blurry pictures.

Back to LA……

We went hiking ( with my sister  who got a day off ) at Runyon Canyon, and managed to get to the top to see a clear view of the famous Hollywood sign and the whole city of LA.  And guess what, James Lebron walked past us , shirtless, and,  our eyes met, woohoo, and I thought I heard him say, Hi…… ,  my cousin said, ” nope,  it was the guy walking behind him”, and added,  ” Ren,  I see stars in your eyes. ”  Sadly, it was just Lebron that we saw. I  had hoped for more, like Zac Efron, shirtless.     Uhm,  never mind.  Lebron  was totally legit.

Here’s a random pic of yours truly at the Hollywood Walk of Fame , taken in 2012.

This is all for now.

My Last Day in Paris

Hi, there ! !  Just photos this time. I won’t write much  because it’s Monday, and Mondays s*ck.  Before anything else, those who are interested in reading my manga/anime site, check it out HERE.

Here are some photos of my last day in Paris…. in fact, the last day of my 30 day tour of Europe.

I had liver pate ( I love liver ), and escargot (  fancy name for snail ).

I need to say  this , though….. tipping in Europe is massive..  We had to tip those serenaders, the waiters, the tour manager, the bus driver.  If you bought a tour package for a certain amount,  never , ever think that’s all you’re gonna spend. Some dinners aren’t free. You can opt out and not join the group, and eat at McDonald’s ,  or pay $ 75 each for a lousy  dinner in Monaco , or $ 70 in Rome. Since my cousin and I didn’t really have money , my mother had to shoulder everything , for herself, for me and my 14 year old cousin.  For the tour manager and bus driver, it was $ 14 tip each day from one tourist, and since it was a 30 – day tour,  the amount totaled $ 420 each person, and since there were 3 of us ( Mom, myself and cousin ),  we had to pay $ 1,260. Take note…. there were 50 of us in the group. Good thing credit card was accepted.  If dinner was at the hotel we were staying in, then it was free. Unfortunately,  the group always ate out , in Madrid, Barcelona, Paris,  Switzerland, Venice.  Even some tours weren’t free, like the  Rheine River cruise, etc. So, be sure to bring plenty of cash. One thing though, we drank wine like it was water, one bottle per person, I kid you not. Every night was Happy Hour.

And one more thing,  before  Paris, I had this impression  the Mona Lisa painting was huge.  Guess what, it’s small, about a foot and a half  long

DSCN2023 I have tons of pics  taken at the Louvre Museum.  The Louvre was the residence of Marie Antoinette and King  Louis XIV.  The ostentatiousness was breathtaking. ” They don’t have bread ? Let them eat cake. ” , said Marie, in response to massive hunger and poverty at that time. No wonder she got her head cut off.

Alright, this is it for now.  Peace .

My sister , Mom , and I just signed up to work for Hillary.  I walk my talk.

My European tour Pt. 27 Louvre Museum, Paris France

Hello, comusta, Renxkyoko Iglesias musing  !

There are tons of current issues I’d like  to write about, but I promised  I would  wind down my European travelogue, so here it is, as promised.

My lovely, regular readers know my family is  building a vacation house at Boracay island in the Philippines. We thought construction would be finished in March  but  a super storm happened, unfortunately . It is a 3 level house with 7 bedrooms, and yes, we do plan to rent out the whole house or individual rooms to tourists.  Although it’s now  almost 99% finished, we still need to furnish it, and you know, we have no investors, everything is out of pocket,  our pockets,  and I guess, we are already at our limit, as far as finances go.

That’s how it looked  in November.  ( That’s my dad in yellow shirt )  I wish I could show here some recent photos , but our aunt is so computer -challenged she doesn’t even know how to email  pictures. * shakes head *

We’ve already sent  5 boxes of stuff to the Philippines, via Door to Door delivery. (  dozens of towels, Ikea curtains, chafing dishes, etc. … omg, bottles of wine ! !  )

DSCN2426

We originally planned to go to Japan and some Southeast Asian countries , but I guess that ‘s cancelled  now.  I’m very disappointed.  Oh, well.  It’s okay….. I don’t  think a one-month   Philippine vacation is enough, anyways….. there are so much to do there and so much to see, and I’ll   take tons of pictures.  Oh,  by the way, my brother and his girlfriend are coming too, but they are going to France first, and from there,  fly to the Philippines.  We don’t know  if we’ll get to meet up with them, though.  We hope not. My mother said it would be troublesome to take care of 2 more people. Ha ha .

Speaking of France……Paris  is the last leg of our European tour.  We’ve been to Nice, Carcassone, Poitiers, Bordeaux, Amboise, Avignon, ( all in France) and I’ve already  posted some pictures of Paris.. and the photo below of the Eiffel Tower.  I’m posting it again because I look very happy  in it.

So without further ado….

The following photos are those of The Louvre Museum’s .

Below is the back entrance. The size of European cars fascinates me because my eyes are used to big, American cars.  Guess what,  Mini cars are already being advertised on TV here in the US. I just watched  a commercial  for a Mini a while ago,  a cute yellow one.

Now for the awesome art objects inside Louvre.

* stares*    I’m wondering about the pose.    Or maybe not.  Maybe that was just the way they posed.  Cool.

DSCN2006

There’s a lot of movement in these later Roman statues. Gorgeous.

DSCN2007

You can feel the movement of those muscles.

This is all for now, folks.  Next post is still Louvre Museum. The place has thousands of art objects !  Stand by for the Mona Lisa !

Oh, yeah, Manny Pacquiao , a champion Philippine boxer just won over Bradly.  We watched it a few hours ago on paid HBO special.  Okay, I didn’t watch it.  I don’t like boxing.

So, bye for now. Good day and PEACE.
