I’ll be good this time. I’m not in the mood to rant and scream MURDER ! !
Hi ! !
Going to show some random old photos.
Above ,with statues of Pres. Obama and Michelle in a restaurant in the Philippines that is full of odd decorations. ( Not shown in the photo are the huge statues of KingKong , Godzilla and Batman.
Man, I love that hat ! ! ( pic taken in Pisa, Italy)
I was rummaging thru thousands of photos in my file , and got stoked, for the nth time, when I saw my 15 minutes of fame. …. I was on stage with Jason DeRulo, singing to me. * ah, this never gets old. *
I split the computer screen, and translate the manga I’m reading. I spend so much time doing this. Mangas translated from Japanese into English are so slow in coming. So, I go to Spanish and Italian websites. So, why not translate Japanese straight to English ? Well, there are no Japanese characters in my computer.
I love crime/detective books, too…. so much so that I studied and got a degree in Forensics Biology. That’s pretty hardcore , if I do say so myself.
As you can see from the photo above, my favorite crime author is Patricia Cornwell.
Had a glass or two at this bar above photo at Boracay Island, Philippines. Below photo is Boracay Island. Pretty, isn’t it ?
I love the spiral staircase , from the backgarden below to the covered rooftop of our house in the Philippines.
That’s my bedroom on the right, the one with sliding glass door. I wish I could transport our house, from the Philippines to the US.
Enough of random things. I’ll be back for the serious stuff next time. Ackkk, politics is so confusing. I literally have to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea.
I might have to choose the devil.
But first, I need to contemplate what my role is in the universe. That’s important.
Well,
Bye for now.

The US isn’t all that. Don’t believe the hype. I would rather be in Canada or Ireland or Scotland.
Posted by renxkyoko on September 1, 2020 at 5:48 am
When I think Scotland and Ireland, the images that I see are green meadows and rolling hills. Beautiful. Canada….pristine lakes and snow-covered mountains .Now, about the USA….. majestic Grand Canyon, Statue of Liberty, etc. I don’t know, good ol’ USA, I guess ?

Hey Ren,
Nice photos. Though having had a heatwave in the UK recently I’m ready for some cooler weather!
As for life, I’ve subscribed to Bender’s “Cheese it and coast” method of dealing with it. Working so far, though not for long term use!
Hope you figure things out and a have better time while away from politics, we all need to remove ourselves from the political cesspool now and again.
All the best,
Phil

It’s not as hot now as the ones we had a few weeks ago.. 110 F, that’s over 40 C…
I just figured out what to do with regards to politics. Here in the US, I’ve finally decided who to vote for…. before this election, if you had asked me who I’d vote for, I’d answer, “you’re kidding, right ? ” But this election, rTump vs Biden is giving me a problem. The choice is vote for Biden, or not vote at all. It’s because the future of the country where I was born depends on who wins in this election.

I loved mystery and crime books too! When I was younger I wanted to be a forensic scientist or pathologist. But I sucked at chem and other sciences lol.
That was my dream tho.
Your post made me smile because it made me remember all the things I wanted to do when I grew up

Not all dreams come true… only about 1% , unfortunately. Good thing dreaming is free. Be well, Becky.

I haven’t read anything by this author yet. Is she good?
Posted by renxkyoko on September 2, 2020 at 2:58 am
Well, Tita, if you like crime novels, she’s the one .The main character is a female, a coroner.

I wish I could transport our house in the Philippines to Italy…. Filipinos make better houses (kapag may pondo)
Posted by renxkyoko on September 2, 2020 at 6:17 pm
I think so too…. my parents call it “materiales fuertes”. Here in the US, the first thing that surprised us when we got here was we could pierce the wall with a thumbtack. lol

They use a lot more steel in the Philippines and it makes the house matibay. Too many old houses here have no steel at all
Posted by renxkyoko on September 2, 2020 at 6:33 pm
Steel and concrete…… and I saw really thick , what do you call it , r-bar ? being used in constructing simple one – floor house house.
They have to use strong materials due to strong earthquakes that occur at least once a year. The only problem with steel and concrete houses is, if , unfortunately , a strong earthquake hits the area, those steel and concrete can kill . ( Unlike in Japan… they even use paper walls , so it’s safe )
