LA vacation pics, and some.

Hi there, Renxkyoko Iglesias here. * waves *

So , my cousin just recovered the pics she took of me doing something nasty on THAT guy’s star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame last week  .

Do I look fierce enough ?

There is another one of me giving it the middle finger, but for some reason, I find the photo quite indecent and lewd.. I self – censored it, he he.

At the Getty Museum….. I think that’s a Van Gogh.

Okay, while I ‘m at it, I want to show you guys some art stuff  we have here at home.  The paintings are by two  famous painters in the Philippines, and,  in fact, we were notified years ago to send photos of the paintings so that this art group (  Tuesday Group , they are called ) could keep track of where the paintings of these artists are located, and have them authenticated, especially now that they are deceased.  I am sure the value of these paintings has already gone up, and that’s an understatement.

Above is  water color painting by E…. can’t tell the name of the painter. Sorry for the glare.

We have 3 more of E’s  but I don’t have  time to look for  them in my photo gallery.

INOCENTES MAGPUSAO

and below is a commissioned painting  by E for  President Aguinaldo’s ancestral home (  first president of the Philippines when the country declared independence from Spain…. short lived , because the  Philippines was immediately ceded to the US by Spain for $ 20 M…….. cheap country )

INOCENTES MAGPUSAO OR ENTES

So why do we have 10 of E’s paintings (  some are at our house in the Philippines, and too big to bring to the US )….. because he was a relative who was very close to my mother’s family, ( he came from a poor family and I think my grandfather  helped him and his sister with college tuition fees,  and so he sold some  fine paintings to my mother at just 10% of the actual  value. In fact, he wanted to give them away free but my mother insisted on paying .  His paintings are now highly priced.

So, that’s the story .

Alright, this is all for now.  By the way, I am supposed to talk about a potentially life – changing career move, but I guess that can wait.

Bye and thanks for reading.

A 3 -day vacation in LA

Hi, Renxkyoko Iglesias here.

I had a fun and relaxing 3 – day vacation in Los Angeles with my cousin last week.  We were supposed to stay at my brother’s place in Long Beach, but he was out of town. Good thing we were able to get an Airbnb right in downtown LA. My sister lives a bit far away from LA, and she has work, so  bnb is the most convenient place to stay… it’s just a 2- mile walk or so to Hollywood Walk of Fame.  But here’s the thing….. I forgot my cellphone at home.  My cousin had her cell of course but she’s not much of a picture -taker. She did take a picture of  T-t-t-rump’s  star and my own hand giving it the middle finger, and though she posted it on Snapchat , she didn’t save the picture. Darn it. It was so amusing though  to see people lining up to stomp their feet on this guy’s star. (  The images below are not mine )

We also went to the Getty Museum, and for the first time, saw  real Monet and Van Gogh paintings. I was in awe.  I bought one Van Gogh print.  By the way, I saw the real Mona Lisa painting at Louvre in Paris, and was a bit ( just a teeny, weeny bit, okay ? ) surprised  the painting was small, like 2 ft x 2 ft.?? . I imagined it a bit larger than that.

Sorry for the blurry pictures.

Back to LA……

We went hiking ( with my sister  who got a day off ) at Runyon Canyon, and managed to get to the top to see a clear view of the famous Hollywood sign and the whole city of LA.  And guess what, James Lebron walked past us , shirtless, and,  our eyes met, woohoo, and I thought I heard him say, Hi…… ,  my cousin said, ” nope,  it was the guy walking behind him”, and added,  ” Ren,  I see stars in your eyes. ”  Sadly, it was just Lebron that we saw. I  had hoped for more, like Zac Efron, shirtless.     Uhm,  never mind.  Lebron  was totally legit.

Here’s a random pic of yours truly at the Hollywood Walk of Fame , taken in 2012.

This is all for now.

Thoughts swirling on my mind

Hiya ! Renxkyoko Iglesias here.

I’m sorry I haven’t been reading your blogs, even on my off  days.  I’ve been doing other things… stuff that I haven’t done for quite a while. Hopefully, I maybe able to catch up  on my blog reading this week.

I’ve been thinking a lot about politics these days. The tense situation between North Korea and the US  is a bit scary. I’m not worried about the US getting attacked by that murdering Dear Leader Kim Jung-On. I’m more concerned  about the countries near North Korea…. South Korea, duh, ( capital Seoul is a mere 50 km. from DMZ ), Japan, Taiwan, The Philippines.

I wonder what Japan and S. Korea are feeling now. I just watched a video of Japanese school children having an emergency drill in case of a nuclear attack. Even though it’s just a drill, we can see terror on the children’s faces. * omg, the kids  are sitting ducks *

I don’t know what’s going on in South Korea, though. Here’s what I know……. there’s currently a heavy influx of South Korean nationals to the Philippines. Immigration of South Koreans to the Philippines has been on-going for about 2 decades now. There’s now a huge Korean Town in Manila where before there was none.  In our subdivision alone, Paris Hilton built a ten   10- story building  condominium resort complex , just walking distance from our house, and all units are already sold out to South Korean and Japanese nationals. Also walking distance from our house in the subdivision is a Korean elementary and high school. ( used to be Japanese school, but they moved to another place).

I wrote about our vacation house at Boracay Island , a famous touristy beach island  in the Philippines.  The house has 3 floors ( 4, including the rooftop with a million – dollar view of the ocean ),  7 bedrooms, 5 bath/toilets, and we originally planned to rent it out to tourists. When we went there in 2014, there wasn’t even a bed we could sleep in. Interior of the house at https://megaworthit.com/2015/01/27/my-philippine-vacation-part-4/        I’m not shamelessly plugging it in, mind you.  To my Filipino readers who have been enquiring about the house, sorry, folks, it won’t be available until 2020.

DSCN0081

That ‘s how our vacation house looked like  in June 2014.  By December 2014, the house was already fully booked up to March , 2015, but then in April 2015, the whole house ( except one bedroom reserved for our family ) was rented by South Koreans , with contract good up to 2020. They even employed a full – time gardener.   So, okay, I’m digressing….. well, our tenants are South Koreans. Just sayin’.

I guess this is what’s going on with South Koreans, especially those who can afford to make a quick get away in case a North Korean attack happens. There’s even a joke why South Koreans are not worried about North Korea….. because half of the population are already living in the Philippines…… aaaargh !  It’s a joke, guys. I know…… it’s tasteless. Nuclear war is not something to joke about. Sorry.

I hope and pray nothing happens.  I hope these pronouncements from this  man at the White House are  mere rhetorics and he’s just  trying to deflect the country’s attention away from his  Russian  connection …. but then, provoking a madman like Dear Leader  Kim Jun -ong  is catastrophically dangerous , with millions of lives at stake.

We called our aunty in the Philippines and she informed us that , at this moment, the Philippines is more concerned about the 6.4 earthquake that occurred in Batangas on Aug.11 ( just 50  miles from Manila , the capital city ). The country is afraid that more earthquakes will occur in the next few days. * sigh *  Volcanic eruptions, off the chart typhoons, and earthquakes. The Philippines had the largest volcanic eruption in the 20th century ( 1991 ) and the strongest typhoon ever recorded in the world in 2013 . ( typhoon Hayain )and an 8.0 earthquake sometime in the 1990’s. What else can the world pile up on top of these catastrophies ? ( not to mention Japan’s tsunamis ) Oh, wait, threat of nuclear war.

Something cute….9 year old kids singing

Hi, Renxkyoko Iglesias here !

Well, that rant on my previous post….. it was cathartic, so give me some slack, okay ?

To make up for that , here’s something cute. This is from a Philippine TV variety show ( I think it’s a  kids’ singing contest ) where three 9- year – old kids sing to Beyoncé’s song Listen. Even if you cannot understand the language, you can tell it’s an unrehearsed singing contest.

This is 3 minutes, 35 seconds of your precious time, folks.

Geez, I even forgot this post had no title…. just edited.

Hi, Renxkyoko Iglesias here.

I’m trying to zone out politics here in the US, but I can longer pretend I don’t  give an effing  sh*t  about all that bullcr*p that’s coming out of the White House every effing day. Pardon my  language  but, what the hell !

That’s all for now, but I’ll be back !  Sheesh .
