Hi, Renxkyoko Iglesias here !
I got an email from a friend who informed me about this Filipino singer who sang LIVE on this popular Philippine radio station WISH FM 107.5 BUS that has a YouTube Channel . This radio station is inside a bus and is always on the road, and features local artists , mostly amateurs…… so, anyways, I got to watch and listen to this guy named Marcelito Pomoy, who just blew my brains off. I mean, what the heck ! ! ! He’s freakin’ insane !
You guys, seriously , you just have to watch this. He sings The Prayer, a Celine Dion – Andrea Bocelli duet.
Spoiler Alert ! ! He sings a duet with himself ! ! !
I swear, Filipinos love for karaoke does wonders. Or , maybe Filipinos’ musical talent is genetic, ( the best in Asia, and that’s a fact…… I’m supposed to write about this on this post, but I want this one to be a special post ) or , does it come from the rice they eat, 3 times a day ?
Without further ado, here’s Marcelito. Please click and prepare to be surprised. Have fun ! ! !
And you really have to watch …. don’t click LIKE without watching.

. . . he’s going to hurt himself one of these days . . .
Posted by renxkyoko on July 20, 2017 at 10:13 pm
Very possible….. serious vocal chords problem.
Posted by Acacia Aurora on July 21, 2017 at 2:17 am
But damn. That’s good…
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 4:33 am
I know, right ? When I first heard the feminine voice, I was like, okay, so she has excellent feminine singing voice, but it’s not unique, a lot of men can sing in almost female falsetto voice….. then he sang in his operatic voice, a la Andrea Bocceli,…… it knocked me off the couch. lol

Reblogged this on 1EarthUnited and commented:
This guy outsings Celine by a mile, I’m sure she’s jealous. Wow, Filipinos are the best karaoke singers PERIOD, thx for sharing!
Posted by renxkyoko on July 20, 2017 at 10:43 pm
Karaoke in every household. They practice singing 24/7 , lol.
Kidding aside, Filipinos’ singing talent is recognized all over Asia. All over Asia, if there’s a live band , 9 out 10, it’s a Filipino band.

Luv it! ❤

He is really good.
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 12:59 am
He does have to be careful with his vocal chords, especially when singing his feminine voice. It might take a toll on his vocal chords.
But yeah, he’s amazing !
Posted by arlene on July 21, 2017 at 1:00 am
He has been doing that since he started singing. Two voices in one persona.
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 1:06 am
Is he a newbie, or has he been singing professionally ? I’ve never heard of him ( but then I’ve never heard of any Filipino singer, anyway, ha ha ha ) I’ve heard of a few Filipino ” idols ” such as James Reid , singing, but they’re mediocre.
Posted by arlene on July 21, 2017 at 1:07 am
Yes, he is a professional singer. there are lots of talented singers here Ren. James Reid, pa cute lang…haha
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 6:50 am
I know. But James Reid is not off key, nor his girlfriend, Nadia Lustre who sings the theme song of “On the Wings of Love, “. She can’t even hit the mid- range high notes. But she does have good singing voice, but not enough . ( Yes, I watched the telenovela, LOL ! ) I’m so baduy. My aunt from the Philippinnes enthusiastically told me to watch “My Destiny “, ha ha. I can’t find it anywhere. It’s blocked here in the US.
Posted by arlene on July 21, 2017 at 7:46 am
I don’t watch teleseryes. I only see them once in a while on tv. Nadine, you mean?
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 7:16 am
By the way, if he wants to go all -out professional , he needs a speech coach. I have no idea if he’s pronouncing the Italian words correctly ( although he can roll his Rs, and that’s good) but the English words are NOT enunciated well enough.

oh ya the amazing talent with SO many vocal chords 😀
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 7:26 am
You’ve heard of him, Andy ??
Posted by andy1076 on July 21, 2017 at 10:52 am
Ya! he even did a bunch of performances right out in the public 🙂
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 2:25 pm
I’m sure he’s been doing that in Cavite where he comes from before he was ” discovered”, ha ha.
Posted by andy1076 on July 21, 2017 at 3:40 pm
Simon Cowell’s got nothing to say against him! 😄
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 4:07 pm
He’ll be blown away….. I haven’t really watched XFactor UK, except those where the Filipino girl group participated ( 4th Power ) and won, though they didn’t win the grand finals. They managed to get into the grand finals though, and I think that was good enough.
Posted by andy1076 on July 21, 2017 at 4:51 pm
Filipinos for me will always outsing anyone! you folks have so much passion for it ☺️
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 5:00 pm
here’s one thing….. Filipinos are not shy to sing in public. There’s even a joke about Filipino parents and their babies….. as soon as they can speak, they are taught the ABC alphabet , and later , they are supposed to belt it out, and if the baby can sing it in tune, parents celebrate…… if the baby can’t sing, he/she is great disappointment. I saw a video of that on You Tube. It’s a parody of typical Filipino parents forcing the kids to sing . It’s funny coz the babies are still wearing diapers. Ha ha
Posted by andy1076 on July 21, 2017 at 5:54 pm
Whaaaaaaa??! what if the kid has skills in inspiring and teaching? :O
Posted by renxkyoko on July 22, 2017 at 6:27 pm
Well, that’s for laterzz….. ha ha ha
Posted by andy1076 on July 22, 2017 at 7:51 pm
craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazay!
Posted by Sreejit Poole on July 21, 2017 at 2:39 am
What??? Wait… What??? That’s too much talent for one person.
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 6:20 am
I know ! I was like, what ? What !!!!! Ha ha ha
Posted by raistlin0903 on July 21, 2017 at 4:44 am
It’s amazing that there is so much completely unknown talent out in the world. You are completely true, this is seriously awesome. Thanks for sharing this, great way to start the day 😀
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 6:30 am
Thank you for watching, raistlin. I’m aware I was rudely insistent that readers watch the video before LIKING, but some readers do click LIKE without even reading a post, ha ha ha.
Posted by raistlin0903 on July 21, 2017 at 6:48 am
Haha, yeah, I see that happening a lot 😂😂 I sometimes get about 5 likes in the span of 4 seconds or something, and then I think, erm did you even read what you liked? Lol 😂 But this was absolutely amazing, and I don’t think you were rude at all 😀
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 2:39 pm
Darn it, I forgot to say PLEASE ? Ha ha ha I didn’t want to edit anymore. It once messed up my post when I did that. * my post disappeared , darn you, WordPress. *
Posted by Xena on July 21, 2017 at 7:57 am
It takes talent to sing both parts. He sings very good.
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 2:27 pm
His rendition of Andrea Bocceli knocked me off my feet.
Posted by Peter Wells aka Countingducks on July 21, 2017 at 8:33 am
That’s an amazing range of voices from one man. He could win many a talent contest with that range I’m sure
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 2:18 pm
I think there are a lot of male singers who can sing in feminine/falsetto voice. What makes him a bit unique is that his other voice is operatic. I can see though that he is not classically trained. Otherwise, he’ll have a higher range.
And by the way, they say he is ” straight”, not gay.
Posted by Peter Wells aka Countingducks on July 21, 2017 at 3:08 pm
I wasn’t really wondering about his orientation, but I was impressed by his talent. When I was young I had a good voice and even sang on the radio but when I reached puberty and my voice broke, my voice became much more ordinary
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 4:13 pm
To be honest, I did wonder about it. I watched some of his performances , and I noticed he had been singing a lot of the feminine voice….. He did sing Endless Love duet of Diana Ross and some other guy. It was good , as well.
Posted by D K Powell on July 21, 2017 at 10:43 am
Good grief you do like that your rather unusual singing voices don’t you! LOL!!
Posted by renxkyoko on July 21, 2017 at 2:23 pm
Ha ha He does have an unusual singing voice, doesn’t he ? Though the feminine voice is not exactly like Celine Dion’s, it does have that nasal twang of Celine Dion’s.
Posted by D K Powell on July 22, 2017 at 9:21 am
It doesn’t matter really. Both of his voices would win him competitions if he just stuck to either one! The combination together though is amazing 😀
Posted by soiba on July 21, 2017 at 3:06 pm
My GOD! For a second I thought it was the recording of Celine Dion. He’s got talent haha
Posted by renxkyoko on July 23, 2017 at 2:52 am
I still have to check out Celine Dion/Andrea Bocelli’s duet. He does have Celine Dion’s nasal twang. Celine Dion’s first language is French, isn’t it ?
Posted by soiba on July 23, 2017 at 10:06 am
Yes he surely has haha. That i’m not sure of 😀
Posted by aysabaw on July 22, 2017 at 3:37 pm
ha ha ha this guy won Pilipinas Got Talent few years back because of this male/female voice ha ha
Posted by renxkyoko on July 23, 2017 at 3:01 am
Really,a few years back ? When , exactly ? This is the first time I’ve heard of him. I started paying attention to Philippine entertaiiners and artists when I watched * sings * On the Wings of Lov e. Ha ha ha I plan to get a GMA Channel here in the US. My aunt is enthusiastically urging me to watch My Destiny. My 75 year old aunt is obsessing on Tom Rodriguez. And I’m like, who’s he ? Unfortunately, My Destiny is blocked here in the US. I’m very curious. I heard it’s very popular in SouthEast Asia, Africa and some places in Europe, especially in Spain. The telenovela is dubbed in the country where it’s shown.. My mom is amused and calls me baduy.
Posted by aysabaw on July 23, 2017 at 3:09 am
yeah he won in 2011 i guess….can’t find his audition video, he’s an interesting guy…
Tom Rodriguez is actually very handsome LOL but I don’t watch Pinoy soaps now, there’s no Pinoy TV here in Maldives ha ha…can’t believe that show is popular elsewhere
Posted by hilal achmar on July 22, 2017 at 11:56 pm
I like that song. And Mr. Pomoy is The Duet Master. Duet with himself. 🙂 Not everyone can sing this song, cause it need broad scale voice. Just kidding: Hi Renx, can you sing like Mr Pomoy? 🙂 Ha ha ha.. I can’t imagine if you sing with male voice 🙂
Posted by renxkyoko on July 23, 2017 at 2:49 am
I think it’s rare for women to sing in male’s voice, but a lot of male singers can… falsetto. But Mr. Pomoy’s is not falsetto, it sounds like a female is singing, doesn’t it ?
I can’t even sing with my own voice, ha ha.
Posted by hilal achmar on July 31, 2017 at 11:52 am
Ha ha ….. You can not sing? ha…ha….Who named Iglesias should be responsible for being a good singer in the world, like Julio and Enrique. I think your voice is like Regine Velasquez or Sarah Geronimo. Viewed from your face, I’m sure you have a broad range of notes from alto – mezzosopran to soprano. But, hopefully I am wrong. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Posted by renxkyoko on July 31, 2017 at 5:55 pm
Believe it or not, if I expand the family tree, Enrique Iglesias will be part of it. Enrique Iglesias is 1/2 Filipino. Some of his Filipino relatives are our relatives, too.
* sigh * Sadly, I can’t sing to save my soul.
Posted by hilal achmar on August 1, 2017 at 2:44 am
Ms. Renx, I believe it. Your lineage is good. Isabel Preysler and Chábeli Iglesias are celebrities or socialites. Why did you choose Molecular Microbiology? Does your violin string use a DNA string? 🙂 In the human genome, can sounds be engineered? Because, I want to be a good singer … To save my soul, too. 🙂
Posted by AGE on July 26, 2017 at 8:17 am
I like him too 🙂
Posted by JunkChuck on July 26, 2017 at 7:58 pm
Karaoke isn’t just a passtime, it’s a way of life! And, hey, that video was kind of awesome.
Posted by simplymesmc on August 31, 2017 at 11:28 pm
Yeah, he won Pilipinas Got Talent back in 2011. He is a mainsaty of ASAP now, an ABS-CBN Sunday Musical Show. That guy gave me goosebumps. I was able to get a copy of his audition piece from Youtube, but it was not a clear copy. Nonetheless, here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=la02Lzw6qAs

That’s so awesome!!! I love Filipino music. It brings me back to my Navy days. I actually have a playlist on Spotify called ‘Filipino music’.
Posted by renxkyoko on October 25, 2017 at 5:48 pm
That’s nice. I’ve listened to quite a few, and they are mostly old Filipino songs. Have you listened to Freddie Aguilar’s” Anak ” ? I like this one.
Posted by Paul Stroessner on October 25, 2017 at 6:09 pm
That’s not bad. But it seems like more of a singer/songwriter song. If it was in English, I’d probably enjoy it more. If it’s not in English, I prefer more soulful music. I like Problema (except for the weird parts where he laughs).
One non-English song I love is Ikaw Ang libigin Ko by Jos Garcia
Posted by renxkyoko on October 25, 2017 at 6:54 pm
I love these two… 2 different songs with the same title
Posted by Paul Stroessner on October 25, 2017 at 7:05 pm
Wow!! I love both of them!! Thanks so much! I’m adding them to my playlist. I especially love the Yeng Constantino one

Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika won an International Song Festival. There were so many excellent entries from all over the world, but this one they sid was a ” killer song.” Everyone thought it would win, no competition.

i “like” because the video won’t play. be well and continue…
