What the ! ! No Way ! What did I just watch ? ?

Hi, Renxkyoko Iglesias here !

I got an email from a  friend who informed  me about this Filipino singer  who sang LIVE on this popular Philippine radio station WISH FM 107.5 BUS that has a YouTube Channel . This radio station is inside a bus and is always on the road, and features local artists , mostly amateurs…… so, anyways, I got to watch and listen to this guy named Marcelito Pomoy, who just blew my brains off.  I mean, what the heck ! ! !   He’s freakin’ insane !

You guys, seriously , you just have to  watch this. He sings The Prayer, a Celine Dion – Andrea Bocelli duet.

Spoiler Alert ! !  He sings a duet with himself ! ! !

I swear, Filipinos love for karaoke does wonders.  Or , maybe Filipinos’ musical talent  is genetic, ( the best in Asia, and that’s a fact…… I’m supposed to write about this on this post, but I want this one to be a special post  ) or ,  does it come from the rice they eat, 3 times a day ?

Without further ado, here’s Marcelito.  Please click  and prepare to be surprised.   Have fun ! ! !

And you really have to watch …. don’t click LIKE without watching.

        But damn. That’s good…

        • I know, right ? When I first heard the feminine voice, I was like, okay, so she has excellent feminine singing voice, but it’s not unique, a lot of men can sing in almost female falsetto voice….. then he sang in his operatic voice, a la Andrea Bocceli,…… it knocked me off the couch. lol

This guy outsings Celine by a mile, I’m sure she’s jealous. Wow, Filipinos are the best karaoke singers PERIOD, thx for sharing!

  3. He is really good.

    • He does have to be careful with his vocal chords, especially when singing his feminine voice. It might take a toll on his vocal chords.

      But yeah, he’s amazing !

      • He has been doing that since he started singing. Two voices in one persona.

        • Is he a newbie, or has he been singing professionally ? I’ve never heard of him ( but then I’ve never heard of any Filipino singer, anyway, ha ha ha ) I’ve heard of a few Filipino ” idols ” such as James Reid , singing, but they’re mediocre.

          Reply

          • Yes, he is a professional singer. there are lots of talented singers here Ren. James Reid, pa cute lang…haha

            Reply

            • I know. But James Reid is not off key, nor his girlfriend, Nadia Lustre who sings the theme song of “On the Wings of Love, “. She can’t even hit the mid- range high notes. But she does have good singing voice, but not enough . ( Yes, I watched the telenovela, LOL ! ) I’m so baduy. My aunt from the Philippinnes enthusiastically told me to watch “My Destiny “, ha ha. I can’t find it anywhere. It’s blocked here in the US.

            • I don’t watch teleseryes. I only see them once in a while on tv. Nadine, you mean?

            • By the way, if he wants to go all -out professional , he needs a speech coach. I have no idea if he’s pronouncing the Italian words correctly ( although he can roll his Rs, and that’s good) but the English words are NOT enunciated well enough.

  4. oh ya the amazing talent with SO many vocal chords 😀

    • You’ve heard of him, Andy ??

      Reply

      • Ya! he even did a bunch of performances right out in the public 🙂

        Reply

        • I’m sure he’s been doing that in Cavite where he comes from before he was ” discovered”, ha ha.

          • Simon Cowell’s got nothing to say against him! 😄

            Reply

            • He’ll be blown away….. I haven’t really watched XFactor UK, except those where the Filipino girl group participated ( 4th Power ) and won, though they didn’t win the grand finals. They managed to get into the grand finals though, and I think that was good enough.

            • Filipinos for me will always outsing anyone! you folks have so much passion for it ☺️

            • here’s one thing….. Filipinos are not shy to sing in public. There’s even a joke about Filipino parents and their babies….. as soon as they can speak, they are taught the ABC alphabet , and later , they are supposed to belt it out, and if the baby can sing it in tune, parents celebrate…… if the baby can’t sing, he/she is great disappointment. I saw a video of that on You Tube. It’s a parody of typical Filipino parents forcing the kids to sing . It’s funny coz the babies are still wearing diapers. Ha ha

            • Whaaaaaaa??! what if the kid has skills in inspiring and teaching? :O

            • Well, that’s for laterzz….. ha ha ha

            • craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazay!

  5. What??? Wait… What??? That’s too much talent for one person.

  6. It’s amazing that there is so much completely unknown talent out in the world. You are completely true, this is seriously awesome. Thanks for sharing this, great way to start the day 😀

    • Thank you for watching, raistlin. I’m aware I was rudely insistent that readers watch the video before LIKING, but some readers do click LIKE without even reading a post, ha ha ha.

      Reply

      • Haha, yeah, I see that happening a lot 😂😂 I sometimes get about 5 likes in the span of 4 seconds or something, and then I think, erm did you even read what you liked? Lol 😂 But this was absolutely amazing, and I don’t think you were rude at all 😀

  7. It takes talent to sing both parts. He sings very good.

  8. That’s an amazing range of voices from one man. He could win many a talent contest with that range I’m sure

    Reply

    • I think there are a lot of male singers who can sing in feminine/falsetto voice. What makes him a bit unique is that his other voice is operatic. I can see though that he is not classically trained. Otherwise, he’ll have a higher range.

And by the way, they say he is ” straight”, not gay.

      Reply

      • I wasn’t really wondering about his orientation, but I was impressed by his talent. When I was young I had a good voice and even sang on the radio but when I reached puberty and my voice broke, my voice became much more ordinary

        Reply

        • To be honest, I did wonder about it. I watched some of his performances , and I noticed he had been singing a lot of the feminine voice….. He did sing Endless Love duet of Diana Ross and some other guy. It was good , as well.

  9. Good grief you do like that your rather unusual singing voices don’t you! LOL!!

    Reply

    • Ha ha He does have an unusual singing voice, doesn’t he ? Though the feminine voice is not exactly like Celine Dion’s, it does have that nasal twang of Celine Dion’s.

      Reply

      • It doesn’t matter really. Both of his voices would win him competitions if he just stuck to either one! The combination together though is amazing 😀

  10. My GOD! For a second I thought it was the recording of Celine Dion. He’s got talent haha

  11. ha ha ha this guy won Pilipinas Got Talent few years back because of this male/female voice ha ha

    Reply

    • Really,a few years back ? When , exactly ? This is the first time I’ve heard of him. I started paying attention to Philippine entertaiiners and artists when I watched * sings * On the Wings of Lov e. Ha ha ha I plan to get a GMA Channel here in the US. My aunt is enthusiastically urging me to watch My Destiny. My 75 year old aunt is obsessing on Tom Rodriguez. And I’m like, who’s he ? Unfortunately, My Destiny is blocked here in the US. I’m very curious. I heard it’s very popular in SouthEast Asia, Africa and some places in Europe, especially in Spain. The telenovela is dubbed in the country where it’s shown.. My mom is amused and calls me baduy.

      Reply

      • yeah he won in 2011 i guess….can’t find his audition video, he’s an interesting guy…

Tom Rodriguez is actually very handsome LOL but I don’t watch Pinoy soaps now, there’s no Pinoy TV here in Maldives ha ha…can’t believe that show is popular elsewhere

  12. I like that song. And Mr. Pomoy is The Duet Master. Duet with himself. 🙂 Not everyone can sing this song, cause it need broad scale voice. Just kidding: Hi Renx, can you sing like Mr Pomoy? 🙂 Ha ha ha.. I can’t imagine if you sing with male voice 🙂

    Reply

    • I think it’s rare for women to sing in male’s voice, but a lot of male singers can… falsetto. But Mr. Pomoy’s is not falsetto, it sounds like a female is singing, doesn’t it ?

I can’t even sing with my own voice, ha ha.

      Reply

      • Ha ha ….. You can not sing? ha…ha….Who named Iglesias should be responsible for being a good singer in the world, like Julio and Enrique. I think your voice is like Regine Velasquez or Sarah Geronimo. Viewed from your face, I’m sure you have a broad range of notes from alto – mezzosopran to soprano. But, hopefully I am wrong. 🙂 🙂 🙂

        • Believe it or not, if I expand the family tree, Enrique Iglesias will be part of it. Enrique Iglesias is 1/2 Filipino. Some of his Filipino relatives are our relatives, too.

          * sigh * Sadly, I can’t sing to save my soul.

          • Ms. Renx, I believe it. Your lineage is good. Isabel Preysler and Chábeli Iglesias are celebrities or socialites. Why did you choose Molecular Microbiology? Does your violin string use a DNA string? 🙂 In the human genome, can sounds be engineered? Because, I want to be a good singer … To save my soul, too. 🙂
