  6. I’ve been reading some of your latest posts and I can tell how much of a Hillary advocate you’ve been and this must be a terrible time for you. Hope you be better, know you will. God bless America.

  8. You are now in a time where we (in the Philippines) were six month ago. Trump’s rhetoric and everything he was, good and bad, will continue as it did with Duterte. Think of them both as a WYSIWYGs.

Then, there is now the new order of politics in the U.S. social media scene. They are not anymore American citizens first. Rather, they are die hard fans club members of Trump who will bash anyone who says anything against their idol, even at the smallest hint of dissent.

So, stay strong. Continue to do good unto others. Keep smiling but prepare for potential issues like the above. In one of the tools in problem solving called SAPADAPPA, the PPA stands for “potential problem analysis”, similar to ” hope for the best but plan for the worst.”

    • You know, Mr. Pekson, when I wrote those pieces about the president of the Philippines, I was very much aware it could happen to the US. I never take things for granted… one can even say I’m a natural pessimist. Days before the election, I felt something was wrong..I could feel it in my bones…so I tuned everything out….. I didn’t watch the news and listened to these political pundits, pro or con. the other bloggers I had communicated with could attest to that. They had all assured me it would be fine.

I guess this is the time for leaders like Trump and Duterte. This is happening all over the world.

I do want Trump to make good his promises. After all, the Republicans dominate all three branches of the government.

    • And we all know what those promises are.

  9. there was a blogger that lamented, that they couldnt believe any white woman would vote for Trump. she had hoped that they had least some self-preservation instincts. now they are screwed.
not even a day after Trump being president, Trump supporters were assaulting muslim girls, and white student girls were telling another girl she had to sit at the back of the bus because that is where she belongs.
    That really made me sick.
Truly I hope he isnt in office long.

  10. It was too painful for me to even watch. There is such a feeling of sadness and uncertainity for many right now and all we can do is hope for the best.

  13. Not your fault, my friend. We are all terribly, desperately sorry for what has happened. “Folly and ignorance, the common curse of mankind.” And the… bugger has both houses. He can pass whatever he wants. God have mercy on us.

  20. Well said! We have in the United States the strongest democratic institutions and practices, providing the proper check-and-balances…. perhaps it would turn out to be Ok. However, I couldn’t help but wonder if this is the start of the end – we have a lot to learn from a long history of fallen empires – Mesopotamia, Egyptians, Greeks, Ottoman & Roman Empires, Spain, Portugal… the U.S. is but a child in history, only 200+ years old, but already we continue to be more arrogant, insulated, indifferent, rather than exercise our responsibility as a world leader to future generations, to the environment, and to the world.

    Yes, I am sorry too.
