Please help….

I just watched Anderson Cooper interview a lady in Tacloban, Leyte, Philippines. She lost her husband and six children. The bodies of her husband and 2 children  are  right there on the ground, covered with plastic . She’s looking for the rest of the family.  Then Cooper asks her where  she’s going now… she answers there’s no place to go , then Cooper asks where will you sleep tonight, she answers, ” in the street”, her exact words.  I burst into tears. She is  clearly  in shock.  Numb. If you asked me what I’d do, I think I’d go to the sea and drown myself. I don’t think I can continue to live with these memories of my children and husband . I know it shows weakness in character….. I don’t know.  I still believe I wouldn’t want to live anymore.

So please help.  Go to any link… CNN has the best links. $ 20 can feed 50 people.

  2. Hiya Ren!

It’s really, really sad! I’ve seen a few stories on the news and I’ll be donating soon! The UK has already sent £13 million pounds worth of aid! 🙂

If all my family had died I’d probably kill myself aswell, so you shouldn’t feel bad about it. They give us a reason to live, they’re not just our family but our best friends too! Makes me wonder how that lady and people like her are going to cope!

Is the CNN site secure for donations?

    • Phil, CNN is giving the sites where one can click Donate. CNN has assured donors the links have been vetted.

I hope they cope… for the rest of their lives. But if something like what happened to the woman who lost all her family happened to me…. I don’t know. I don’t think I can cope. I guess I’m weak.

      • I’ll donate soon, mate. Just need to find my visa bank card which is at my Mam’s place on my messy desk there!

If you’re weak, then so am I! And I don’t believe we’re alone in thinking the way we do, I’m willing to bet there’s other’s too. When you’ve had all the meaning in your life taken away, what do you have left? It feels like a natural response. I’d like to think I could go on, but I’m not sure.

  7. I’m so glad your family is safe. I hear that the aid stations in San Francisco are overflowing with donated clothes and goods but that what is needed is food and water.

    • At the end of the day, what these good folks need are clothes, too.Oh, not only in SanFo… LA ‘s is bigger… I heard there’;s also a big one at Daly City.Tomorrow, we’re going to donate clothes and stuff here in our city. I fear this generosity will not last. The people will remain homeless… food donation will stop. That’s reality.

  9. Ren, we have donated and will continue…we will also pray that help comes worldwide to aid in their recovery, every loss is hard but it has nothing to do with character my sister…it’s a bond of love, i have lost two children in my life, and it is not a pleasant experience…you never truly recover from it but their images dance in my mind, my thoughts and dreams always, I still feel their love, their hugs and their spirits with me always! There are never words to express the sadness, loneliness that comes! But love will help heal the wounds. You have a genuine and selfless heart as many around the world…and they will help! God bless!

We take every thing for granted, and when something so tragic as a natural disaster happens we are left bewildered and in agony. My heart goes out to the victims, they have no where to go and they lost their families!
My boss is donating money, and not only that, he is matching $2 dollars for every dollar we as crew, donate. I hope my co workers will be donating just like me, and not just shrug it off.
    Hugs Ren!
