[…………..]

My dad is in the Philippines, and when the super storm came , he was in Boracay Island , Philippines, right smack in the middle of it. We still have no communication, as of this moment, so we don’t know  how he is. Mom has been calling like crazy… right now , what we’re getting is…. ” I’m sorry we cannot connect to the country you’re calling. Please try again later.”

I hope Dad’s okay. He’s with my aunt in Boracay.

  1. It’s very stressful when a major event happens and you’re not able to contact your loved ones in the area. I hope your dad and relatives fared well- will pray for their safety and that communications are restored soon.

    • Before it came, we were in contact with a relative in Manila, which was not affected. Our relative managed to contact the architect, who was at that time, at the construction site in Boracay Island, trying to secure the materials. That was 2 days ago, Thursday, 6PM US time , 10 AM Friday, Philippine time. The architect texted the rain and wind were getting stronger. My Dad and aunt were supposedlly safe at the hotel. We got a call again after 1 hour and our relative said communication was already cut off.

      It was a 312 km/hour storm. ( 195 mph)

Sounds silly, but try not to worry so much, mate.

    • Thanks, Pamela. Although we heard news about Boracay having no casualty…. we heard it from Tweeters, that’s the problem,. It’s not official. I’m hoping they’re safe.

  10. Communication is always hit in situations like this – it applies the other way too, so your father can not contact you to tell it’s okay – best wishes… 🙂
