HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!

I’m counting the stars….. j/k……I’m counting the days…. the San Francisco office called us to inform they have already sent the tickets. We’ll get them  Monday or Tuesday, hopefully, and then we’ll start nagging Reservations. Problem is, we have an important social activity on the 17th, so I guess, we really can’t leave before that date. My aunt called again last night. Mom’s niece, the dermatologist , will be staying in our house for one month. She’s already there. She’s reviewing for her Diplomate, which is like a masteral degree in Medicine. She doesn’t want to stay in their house because her aunt and family from England are there on vacation. She can’t concentrate on her studies. In a way  it’s good news that she’s staying there. Maybe mom can now get her derma work for free. Smile

Today is Mom’s birthday. Happy Birthday , Mom. Muaaaah ! Luv ya ! !

And Sunday is Father’s Day. You know, our parents are getting older. We have to accept the fact that the remaining days of their lives are getting shorter. Sad smile We really have to show them we love them, if not in words, then , in deed. We might not have the chance to tell them. Who knows what will happen today, tomorrow……So, okay,  I know my mom can be a tad assertive, and , more often than not, it annoys the heck out of me. But I know she only wants the best for me. For instance, she forced me to learn how to play the violin. I didn’t like it, it was so boring, and practice was everyday. But I was an obedient kid, so I obliged. So, now, listen to me play the violin. It’s wonderful. Thanks, mom. My sister took up piano lessons and ballet in the Philippines. Actually, not ballet… learning it was just the first step to learn, guess what, ….. tap dancing . I think I’ll post pics of sis in her tutu. he he he… She hates those pics because she was so chubby then. So yes, sis knows how to tap dance and play the piano. Oh, yeah, mom enrolled me to learn tap dancing too one summer when I was in elementary, but the teacher couldn’t get enough students. She needed at least 10 students, but there were only 4 of us. We waited, but summer soon ended, and after that, we never got to it anymore. It’s a pity. I could always tap dance my way to a wonderful world.  Ah! My mom really loves the arts, that’s for sure. My brother even calls her a " rocker " mom coz she loves rock…. believe it or not, she’s hardcore…. loves Black Sabbath, LedZep, Rage Againts the Machine… all those cool old rockers, dead and living. ^___________^" < Mom and I watched an Eric Clapton concert last year, ha ha ha…. lots of baby boomers at the concert. It was cool, though. Open-mouthed smile

I know ! It’s like they want to control me, and I’m not a kid anymore. They call me whereever I go, even if they know where I’m going. So, sometimes, I just don’t pick up my cellphone coz I know it’s Dad. He’s like " It’s 1 AM. Go home already."
